‘Boyfriend’ is the new track from producer and songwriter Matty. His sound blends new wave influences and huge, anthemic Britpop melodies; the warm, retro 80s guitar sounds perfectly match the simple chord sequences and jumpy playing. The track is accompanied by an impressive video that acts as an ode to ‘no more paying rent’. “I wrote and recorded it with my friend Kaan Güneşberk over a manic two hours, and honestly there’s nothing else to say other than we wanted to make a fun, entertaining song,” explains Matty. ‘Boyfriend’ is the first song written for his upcoming album, POPS, which drops on August 16th, via Lex Records. -Dan Peeke
